The most Easterly point on the Australian mainland, Byron Bay is 800kms north of Sydney and 170kms south of Brisbane.
Getting here:
Ballina/Byron Gateway Airport is approximately a 35 minute drive from Byron and has regular services by Virgin Blue, Regional Express and Jetstar.
Gold Coast International Airport is a 45 minute drive from Byron and is serviced by Jet Star, Qantas, Scoot, Tiger Air, Virgin, Air Asia, Air New Zealand, and Airnorth.

Byron Bay is subtropical.
Winters – June, July and August – are generally mild and dry. Humidity is low and the average temperature range is 20 – 11 deg.
The Summer months of December, January and February are hot and humid with a range of 27 – 21. Spectacular summer storms are often a welcome relief

Daylight Saving
Daylight Saving begins on the first weekend of October and finishes the first weekend in April. As a NSW town, Byron observes daylight saving. Please be conscious if travelling via the Gold Coast Airport during the daylight saving months. There is a one hour time change as Queensland does not have daylight saving.
